"No questions," Zaxsha grumbles.

Voca, well and truly used to this style of condescension, nods amiably while holding her emotion behind pursed lips. ”Worry not, your journey will be quick and pleasant.”

”The sooner we dump you at your destination the happier we’ll all be,” Dr. Boros replies, making no real effort to hide his disdain for being talked down to. He begins slithering back into the ship. ”So come on, then.”

Voca rolls her eyes at Boros’ behavior and nods towards the scientists. ”The ship came fitted with quarters for all of you. If you’d care to board, I can show you to them,” she offers, the picture of congeniality.

The scientists follow Voca onto the ship and, as soon as Samiel is out of earshot, one whispers to her "We're sorry, about him; he's got an ego the size of Liavara"

”I’m used to it,” a very tired Voca responds.

"It's like he doesn't know I could eat him if he angers me too greatly," Misha grumbles under his breath as he heads back inside.

"What a fucking douche"Helena says before heading back inside and to the engine room, ensuring everything runs smoothly...and to tinker a bit. However, while tinkering, the Dromada shocks herself. Knowing that electricity is no small matter, she decides to get checked out by the doctor. She heads over.

Helena finds Dr. Boros tinkering on some kind of syringe rifle while watching an old sitcom on the examination screen. One of the doctor’s heads turns to face Helena as she enters, though he does not pause his other tasks. ”Yes? Are you one of the scientists or one of the crew?”

One of Dr. Boros’s heads leans in closer to inspect Helena. Dr. Boros’s body turns to face her and he scans her with a device on his wrist. ”You have suffered no critical injury. You have a very mild first degree electric burn at the point of contact,” he notes before turning his body and resuming work on the rifle. ”Will that be all?”

"Fair enough, I'll see you around then" Helena goes to leave.

Voca, about a day after the voyage begins, sets out on her own journey: the neverending quest for content. She makes her way to the in board workshop, narrating as she wanders along the ship’s rather spacious corridors. ”Each of these passages is like, as wide as my old place was. This is like something out of a movie, you guys,” she enthuses, surveying the new room she found herself in, and ipon realizing Misha was in the room, adds, ”I don’t think I’ve actually met the bear. Y’all will have to wait for permission. I know. I know. I’m very thoughtful,” she jokes before closing the camcorder and calling out to Misha. ”Hullo! Have we met? I’m Voca, the comms officer!”

The bear looks up from his gun, currently laid out in pieces on a workbench. "Misha. Security officer. Pleasure is all mine." He then returns to tinkering with his gun.

"You, uh... quick question, Misha, you okay with being filmed?" Voca asks, gesturing to her camera. "I vlog a lot and I don't wanna film folks who don't wanna be."

Misha looks back up. "Is no problem. Try to film me from my left if you can. Is my good side."

"Mm, I can see that," Voca comments, flitting to his side to inspect. "Your fur is nicer from this side, I think," she affirms. "I have to ask, what brought you to Absalom Station before? To get this job, I mean."

"Not many other places to go," Misha replies, still fiddling with one of the components of his gun. "Mercenary work can be tough to come by, especially when you are bear. People are either intimidated, or disbelieving. Absalom Station, you have all kinds of people. Bear does not stand out as much, easier to get job."

"Makes sense enough," Voca says, focusing her viewfinder on the... hands? Voca stopped herself from doing a double take from the mental disparity inherent in that discovery. "Where were you from before?"

"Verces," Misha grunts. "I am not close to strangest thing from there."

"That twilight ring planet? I've always thought that it sounded fascinating! You must have a bunch of stories from there," Voca enthuses.

"Not really," Misha waves a furry hand dismissively. "Spent most of my time in testing lab, cage, or combat training against robots. I got free, stowed away on ship to Absalom Station. Took a few jobs as hired muscle, then signed on to this commission."

Voca pauses. "All three of those things you just said sound to me like stories, but I can see why you wouldn't want to relive them," she slowly responds. "I'm sorry you went through those things."
