"Yeah, I'm sure that's true. But that's enough gloomy things," Sepsinia's face lights up in a wide smile. "I wish I'd come to the Jubilee here, the courtyard and gardens are gorgeous and I'm sure with the Tanager Jubilee decorations it would have been even better."

Sepsinia wrinkles her nose and makes a face at the thought of Bartleby. "Yeah he's gross, but he probably wouldn't have even bothered talking to me. I'm not new, I don't even hold land yet, and even my mom didn't try to set me up with him when she was busy looking for suitors. Thank Shelyn for that."

Momo opens her mouth to speak, then pauses. "What did happen to him? Probably looking for a new person's teat to suck, honestly. A man like him doesn't survive long without someone pulling his strings."

"Hmm. I'm not sure. I guess commoner is too much of a generalization in a lot of ways. If I was in a merchant family, I'd probably still have the opportunity to practice art," Sepsinia muses, "I'm not really sure. So much of my life and what makes me, me, is because of my family and my station and the opportunities I've had, so I'm not sure how much is just because of the nature of my... soul I guess."

"That's a depressing thought," Sepsinia sighs with a weak laugh, shaking her head, "Thinking about how no matter what we do, everything could get undone if a god, or even a powerful enough angel or demon or whatever, decides that they don't like it. Or even a really powerful wizard."

"True enough," Sepsinia flexes out her demonic claws for a second before retracting them, "Thanks old ancestor who slept with a succubus or something for giving my sorcery and not making me end up a tiefling, much more convenient. That makes me think, can Irori take your power away the way he could like, not give someone who prays for spells magic anymore?"

"My family's magic is weird in that way because my guess is the power is granted because we're already doing something that the God desires. I've gotta wonder, what the heck is Irori doing granting my family power? His tenets are basically anathema to the whole concept of the pursuit of perfection."

Sepsinia ponders that for a moment. "That is weird. I don't know a lot about Irori, but he's all about like, training and perfecting yourself through your own work, right? So why would he just give away power? Unless... sorry, I don't want to sound rude or presumptuous or anything, but are you certain your divine magic actually comes from Irori?"
