Kingmaker Gameplay

"I'm called Spotty," says the grey kobold.

"Kayden," The white-scaled adds, fishing out a sizable chunk of boar with her spoon and slipping it to the hawk still perched on her shoulder.

”Thank you all so much,” Svetlana replies. ”I know Oleg loves my cooking, but it’s nice to see others love it too.”

Oleg seems to smile a bit despite himself.

”So Tolsh’eka, that’s an unusual name. Definitely not from around here. Where are you from?”

"I guess my name is draconic inspired. My parents were....pretty obsessed with them, I guess they thought if I was named like them, I'd be strong and healthy like them" She sighs, "I don't know where they were from, moved around a lot and was abandoned fairly young. Sena found me and took me in. We've been pretty inseparable ever since"

”Oh poor thing,” Svetlana says. ”That sounds rough. But it looks like you’re surrounded with the right people now.”

Oleg gives a bewildered grunt, but goes back to eating his stew when Svetlana glares at him.

'Eka takes note of the grunt. "Yeah, it all sounds really far fetched when I mention it like that, but what's that saying? Truth is stranger than fiction? Yeah, lots of crazy stuff out there in the world" She shrugs a little. She the focuses on the stew until it's done.

Sena glances up wordlessly at the grunt, but thinks better of taking issue with Oleg's clear distaste for her kind again.

”So about the bandits,” Oleg starts. ”They started getting a lot worse around three months back. They come by monthly now to collect taxes for this madman they call the Stag Lord. Apparently he fancies himself king of these lands now. They’re actually due to come again tomorrow.”

"How many?" asks Spotty. "Do you think we could fight them off? Or will they just send more if we do?"

"If we can find a good angle I could see about setting something up, see if I can't get something to cut them off," Kayden pipes in.

After a long deliberation and additional info from Oleg and Svetlana, the party comes to a plan to attack the bandits. The next morning when the bandits show up, the group is hidden around the fort. The bandits go in to grab supplies while their leader watches Oleg outside. When the bandits come out carrying supplies, it's time to spring the trap.

Everyone sets up and before the bandits get away, all strike at once. The leader goes down almost immediately in the confusion of a dragon swooping down on everyone. Tolsh'eka bites the female bandit as Sena's spell goes wide. Kayden and Ren surround one while Spotty keeps distance with a bow. Tolsh'eka gets fairly cut up from the bandits' daggers but a full bite and claw combo takes care of two of them. The kobolds take care of the last one.

"Ugh, that was rougher than I thought" Eka mutters

While Kayden stabilizes the bandit captain, Oleg gawks at the dragon standing in front of him. "D-d-d... dragon!"

Eka remember Oleg is there and flusters slightly. She quickly flies off and shifts outside the walls. She waits a moment or two before heading back into town.

Oleg stares as the dragon leaves but breathes a sigh of relief. Then he looks with confusion when Eks suddenly returns. His head seems to connect some dots for a moment. "Wait... was that, you?"

Sena sighs, could you have made it a little less obvious, 'Eka...? "... Much like kobolds, not all dragons are given to destruction and plunder either. Keep it under your hat though, would you? There's good reason she stays human in settlements."

"What are you talking about? I thought I saw a bandit waiting outside town so I went--" She stops as Sena just blurts it out. "Guess we're not talking our way through this then. Yes, I'm a dragon, no I have little interest in  this fort, and yes I'm still going after the stag lord. Any other questions? And please don't go blurting it out, I don't want any trouble."
