Yew practically jumps at the chance to fight something. "I'll kill the beastie!"She claims, "Could do it better with an axe though"

Amira looks around but doesn't leap out to volunteer. No reason to stick her neck out yet.

"So are we supposed to volunteer out of the goodness of our hearts or something?"

[AgreeableChap]

"Like hell I'm going down there too," Dug grumbles under his breath in goblin while he scrubs away at the deck, accidentally getting a little careless as he keeps looking up expecting the task to just be forcibly assigned to him anyway.

The rest of the crew is dead silent, so even Dug's meager grumbles still manage to draw Plugg's attention. "Spot, Foxface, and the Goblin, how nice of ye t' vol'nteer. Now normally, I'd say tha's enough, but if'n Scrimshaw's t' be believed, well, 'tis better t' be safe than sorry. So..." His eyes scan over the crowd, landing first on Moira's attempted self-diagnosis, then Amira. "Take Ex an' Fishbreath with ya. An' fer good measure grab our half-pint chef too, surely ol' Fishguts can manage fer an hour by himself."

Moira flinches at Plugg calling her with his ill-fitting nickname but gives no protest.  Instead, she sighs in dispirited resignation as she heads off to inform Sarah of their new duties.

"Yeah, that's what I thought. Higanbana makes her way toward the bilges with a shrug

After picking up Sarah from the kitchen, the group dutifully makes its way down to the dank darkness of the bilges to hunt whatever creature is lurking down there. It doesn't take them long to find what they're looking for, as the waters start churning as several giant, hungry rats emerge from various nooks and crannies.

As several of the rats swarm towards the party, they start taking chunks out of Yew and Dug before they have a chance to react.

As Moira once again cowers in fear, another rat starts gnawing on Sarah.

Higanbana is the first of the group to respond, blasting two of the rats nearest her with electrical energy before pitching a small ball of flame at a third rat in the corner, though her throw goes wide and gutters out in the water.

Two more rats surge forward, if anything invigorated by the smell of their cooking companions. Amira's cat-like reflexes let her easily avoid one that thinks itself better than the natural food chain, while a much less fortunate Moira now has some of those bite marks she was checking for earlier.
